The House Is Open
Twenty-eight golfers arrived at Rockway for the fourth annual Fall Classic and its biggest field yet. Inspired by Las Vegas, the tournament mixed familiar Fall Classic rules with dice rolls, casino games, strategic wagers, and new ways for luck to either rescue a round or make it considerably worse.
By this point, returning players understood the spirit of the event and helped introduce new golfers to the madness. The Fall Classic had grown into a day people knew, anticipated, and wanted to share.
Most importantly, the players’ willingness to embrace the games, challenges, and casino table helped raise funds for emerging and student filmmakers through the Fable Forest Film Fund.

How the Day Played
Dice rolls could award valuable tickets—or take them away. Players earned mulligans, made tossed shots, attempted one-handed putts, faced the seven-iron hole, and took on the dreaded sand-trap challenge.
The format rewarded strong golf, but strategy, luck, and a willingness to play along remained equally important.
Scott Lackenbauer returned to the winners’ circle alongside J.P. Boileau, claiming his second consecutive Kenny’s Cup championship.
Four years in, the Fall Classic had become what Ken originally imagined: filmmakers, family, friends, and community supporters sharing a day together, building memories, and helping create opportunities for future storytellers.
Moments We’ll Remember
~ “The Best Day of My Life”
On the sixteenth hole, Lex landed his tee shot on the green, walked proudly over to the Closest to the Pin marker, and wrote down his name.
Then he declared it “the best day of my life.”
For a brief, beautiful moment, Lex was the man to beat.
Then Jason Shine stepped up and put his ball inches from the cup.
Golf can be cruel. Fortunately, Lex’s moment of glory was caught on camera, giving us something to enjoy long after his name came off the marker.
~ A Better Roll of the Dice
After 2024’s homemade Oscar trophies suffered some fairly serious label-related difficulties, we tried a different keepsake for 2025.
Custom dice fit the Vegas theme perfectly. Each tournament champion and Long Drive and Closest to the Pin winner received one alongside their prize.
They turned out pretty cool, giving the winners a little piece of the Fall Classic to take home and remember the day by.
Our trophy-making department was showing signs of improvement.
~ New-Mom Energy
Jenna Green brought some new-mom energy to the course and claimed the Women’s Long Drive prize, while Ron Brunetta took the Men’s Long Drive honours.
The casino theme brought plenty of luck into the round, but those drives still had to be earned.
~ The Crew Behind the Chaos
Hayley helped keep the tournament moving, while Ash captured the day on camera, despite taking an unfortunate knock to the head along the way.
Their work helped us enjoy the day as it happened and revisit it afterward. The golf, the laughter, and Lex’s short reign as Closest to the Pin leader all became part of the tournament’s growing history.
