The Field Expands
One year after the inaugural tournament, the Fall Classic returned on a much larger scale. Sixteen golfers arrived at Rockway Golf Course, transforming a three-person experiment into a full two-person scramble filled with filmmakers, friends, family, and members of the community.
The familiar tournament twists returned, but the larger field brought new energy, new strategies, and the first real sense that the Fall Classic had found an audience beyond its original three players.
The day also raised $320 for student film, giving the growing tournament a direct connection to supporting new filmmakers and giving everyone another reason to feel good about coming out.

How the Day Played
The throws, strategy tickets, par-three mulligans, and seven-iron challenge returned, this time with two players working together.
Every team had decisions to make. Spend tickets to save a stroke now, or keep them for later? Use the toss to escape trouble, or attempt something ambitious?
With more players testing the rules, it was only a matter of time before somebody found a loophole.
Moments We’ll Remember
~ The Loophole That Changed the Rules
On a par three, Jenna and Lana finished just six or seven inches short of the green. Rather than accept the near miss, they used their strategy tickets to move the ball onto the putting surface and claim a mulligan.
Under the rules at the time, it was allowed.
That did not prevent a lively debate afterward.
The resulting decision helped shape future Fall Classics: tickets and tosses could still improve your team’s score, but they could not be used to earn mulligans or win Long Drive and Closest to the Pin challenges.

~ Lex Clears the River
Josh told Lex there was no chance he could throw his ball across the river.
Lex accepted the challenge.
Using his tournament toss, he launched the ball cleanly across and proved his uncle wrong. Whether it was the wisest use of a toss hardly mattered. The ball made it, and Josh got his answer.
~ Sometimes the Course Wins
Nobody landed on the green for Closest to the Pin, leaving that challenge without a winner.
Fortunately, Josh and Lex could still celebrate their success in the considerably less conventional Closest to the Inconveniently Placed Cooler competition and Daniel claimed the Long Drive prize on the 18th hole.
~ Another Name on Kenny’s Cup
Jason successfully defended his title, this time alongside Adrian. The win added Adrian’s name to Kenny’s Cup beside his longtime filmmaking partner.
After the round, the group traded stories, debated the rules, and started talking about next year. There were already plenty of ideas for making the third Fall Classic bigger, stranger, and even more fun.
