A Tradition Begins
The first Fable Forest Films Fall Classic began with three golfers, perfect autumn weather, and a trophy waiting for its first champion.
Jason Green, Adrian Konstant, and their friend and Fable Forest collaborator Derek Lackenbauer met at Grey Silo Golf Course for the inaugural battle over Kenny’s Cup. An idea that had been waiting years finally made it to the first tee.
The field was small, but the competition was real. So were the questionable tactics.

How the Day Played
From the beginning, the Fall Classic put its own spin on golf.
Players could throw their ball once per nine holes, use lengths of admission tickets to move it without taking a stroke, and earn mulligans by reaching the green on par threes. On the seventh hole, a seven iron was the only club allowed.
The tickets added a little strategy to every round: spend them now to save a stroke, or hold onto them in case they proved more useful later?
That decision ended up settling the tournament.
Moments We’ll Remember
~ The Tickets Decide
Derek and Jason finished tied on score, leaving their unused tickets to determine the first champion.
Jason had enough remaining to claim Kenny’s Cup and become the first name engraved on the trophy. Saving those tickets had paid off, although Derek might have preferred a more conventional finish.
~ A Trophy Finds Its Tournament
Kenny’s Cup existed before the first Fall Classic was ever played. In October 2022, it finally had a tournament, a champion, and the beginnings of a tradition.
By the end of the day, all three golfers were already talking about doing it again.
