Every Year Is Different
While the spirit of the Fall Classic stays the same, each tournament introduces new themes, games, twists, and strategic challenges.
Throws, mulligans, ticket systems, dice rolls, specialty holes, pirate adventures, casino games, and other questionable ideas have all found their way onto the course.
No two Fall Classics are ever quite the same.
Where It Began
The Fable Forest Films Fall Classic grew from an idea shared by Jason Green and his father, Ken.
An avid golfer and one of Fable Forest’s earliest and most enthusiastic supporters, Ken often imagined a tournament where filmmakers, actors, friends, fans, and members of the community could come together for a relaxed day on the course.
Ken passed away in April 2021 before the tournament could be built. The following year, Jason Green, Adrian Konstant, and longtime Fable Forest actor, executive producer, and supporter Derek Lackenbauer finally carried the idea onto the course.
What began with three golfers at Grey Silo has grown into an annual tradition built around friendly competition, unusual challenges, community, and support for emerging filmmakers.
Kenny’s Cup
Before the first Fall Classic was played, there was already a trophy waiting to be won.
Kenny’s Cup was created in memory of Ken Green and the spirit of competition, camaraderie, and community he hoped the tournament would create.
Each year, the Fall Classic champions earn their names on the trophy and their place in the growing history of the event.
It may not technically be a cup, but the name stuck before the first tee shot—and the tradition has stuck with it.
Supporting Emerging Filmmakers
Proceeds from the Fall Classic help support emerging and student filmmakers through the Fable Forest Film Fund, turning a day of fun on the course into opportunities for new stories to be made.
